Nordic Ware – Minnesota made and family-owned since 1946. It has been 75 years since founder Dave Dalquist returned from WWII to start the company in his basement along with his father, brother and wife Dotty. With only $500 in their pockets, a few good ideas and a desire to create a business of their own, a humble kitchenware company was launched. Since then, Nordic Ware’s manufacturing capabilities, distribution and brand have flourished, assuring the company is well poised for the future.

Goal:

The warehouse at Nordic Ware is a crucial area for production yet light levels were poor as the existing fluorescent strip lighting was fading over time due to failing ballasts and degrading lamps. The strip fixtures themselves were rusty so it made sense to replace them as opposed to retrofit to LED tubes. New purpose-built LED strip fixtures were the choice to upgrade to LED with a clean look and similar functionality and spacing.

Light levels improved and the consistency of each new LED strip fixture resulted in a uniformity with the lighting that had not been present. Nordic Ware was set with a quick payback and maintenance-free lighting system for at least the next 5 years.
