GE Current LumenChoice SpectraChoice LED T8, LED PL and LED Can

When new tech hits the lighting market, you know GE Current is going to put their own spin on it to make it unique. That might be added features or making sure their efficacy is unparalleled for a given lamp type.

Color-select LED T8 lamps are growing in popularity because they allow the user to change the color in the field while distributors now don’t need to stock multiple colors of a given LED T8. GE Current took this a step further as they also have a SpectraChoice LED T8 that allows you to select from 3500K, 4000K and 5000K but also the lamp is LumenChoice which means you can also select lumen level of 8W, 12W or 16W. Multiple colors and lumens on one bypass LED T8 tube! From 1100 lumens to 2000 lumens by the flip of a switch. Check out GE 93301824 LEDLCBDT8/G4/8SC for more details. For a slightly lower cost they also have the GE 93301783 LEDLCBDT8/G4/840 which is a Lumen-Selectable version that is a dedicated 4000K color and also bypasses the ballast. Both are sold by the case of 20 and are rated for an industry-leading 70,000 hours.

GE Current has expanded their SpectraChoice (color-selectable) line of lamps to include LED PL lamps and their RS LED Cans. The GE RS LED Cans come in 4″ 8W, 6″ 8W and 6″ 12W. All are 90 CRI, 120V dimmable and color-select between 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K. Simple can retrofit trims with E26 base for easy install and no re-wiring needed.

GE’s SpectraChoice LED PL lamps come in Type A ballast compatible or Type B ballast bypass configurations. Both are sold by the case of 24 (six 4-packs). GE Type A LED PL lamps now run on existing ballasts between 120V-347V for added voltage compatibility. Available in vertical and horizontal configurations. Horizontal Type A LED PL from GE is a 2-pin G24d base while the Vertical Type A LED PLs from GE come in either 2-pin G24d base or 4-pin G24q base. SpectraChoice color temp options for each bulb include 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K for switching color on the lamps themselves.

GE’s Type B LED PL lamps bypass the ballast and wire direct, replacing all G24 base 12W-26W CFL lamps. Available in vertical or horizontal configurations just like the Type A version. Same 120-347V universal voltage as well. SpectraChoice color selectable for 2700K, 3000K, 3500K or 4000K color temp (defaults to 4000K).

Moral of the story as always, GE is a trusted brand that is known for putting their spin on whatever new lighting technology is hot on the market. Good warranty support and stock levels as well. If interested you can order at the links above or contact Premier Lighting for a quote.
